The Joint Management Committee meeting of the computer cooperative program between MEIE and ANU was held this week

On the 2nd of December, 2021, Shandong University, Weihai (SDUW) and the Australian National University (ANU) held a meeting of the Joint Management Committee of the cooperative computer program. Sally wheeler, the vice president of ANU, and Xia Lidong, the vice president of SDUW, Wang Li, the executive dean of MEIE, Liu Ruolun, the deputy dean of MEIE and Guo Chunsheng,the deputy dean of MEIE and other relevant administratives attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Xia Lidong reviewed the cooperation project, the talent training results and the positive impact that the project had on the development of school, scholars and students. He hoped that both sides could explore effectively in the training mode, curriculum system, faculty construction, student service, further improve the quality of cooperation, strengthen the scientific research interaction between the two universities. Ms. Sally wheeler said that the results of the computer cooperative program were made by the joint efforts of the two sides. ANU will continue to explore the internationalization of higher education, and vigorously optimize the teaching process of cooperative program to ensure the clutivation quality. She also hoped that more and more students from the program would go to study in Australia and welcome them.

Later, Mrs. Kong Haiyan, the director of SDUW International Office, introduced the internationalization strategy of the campus, saying that the SDU Weihai campus strongly support students to visit world-class universities, and hoped to build a bridge of communication between students and teachers of the two schools through the establishment of the ANU Learning Center. Jonathan Dampney, the director of ANU International Office, introduced the ANU internationalization strategy, pointing out that the international student experience will be continuously optimized to ensure the quality of online teaching, and make full preparations for the full resumption of offline teaching.

Mrs Wang Li, the executive dean of MEIE, introduced the overall situation of the cooperation program in the aspects of enrollment, teaching management, teaching reformation, and teacher exchange. She hoped to promote the updating of ANU courses in China and jointly establish a complete curriculum system with the ANU. Tony Hosking, the director of School of Computing of ANU, attached great importance to curriculum construction and responded to greater exchanges between teachers from both sides, updating the teaching content of joint course teaching to ensure the teaching quality. Finally, the two sides reached an agreement on the joint construction of the curriculum and teacher exchange.
